fold back the petals
moist with first dew
tempting , inviting
opening for you
deep down inside
a life elixir
dripping , pooling
daring someone to kiss her
caress the petals
odoriferous delight
sweet nectar awaits
hover , drink
then take flight

I love this poem! Combined with the picture it adds to the beauty of it. Love the descriptive words you used and the rhymes. Awesome!
Thanks Christina I did try to meld the poem and painting
Beautiful imagery both in words and in picture.
Thanks Michael
Very sweet, even with no mention of honey. Beautiful write.
Funny I do have a poem about honey that's not quite finished
Awesome write
ah yes, the hummingbird. a big bird in your poem
Good write WL.
WL, I love your poem (and the painting) not only because it is so well written, but because it conjures up additional imagery. On one hand there is the bird feeding on the flower and on the other hand there is tender lovemaking, beautifully expressed.
Exactly the essence of this Fred , thanks a fun poem to write
I wish I were the bird who got the elixir of life.
Beautiful poem fits perfectly with the beautiful paint.
I have a feeling you're more like the flower 🌺 The giver , thanks M&M
A marvelous write and painting made for each other. ; )
You described nature so beautifully. I believe nature is a constant love making. So pure. Your painting is beautiful too.
Beautiful write and great coherence with an amazing artwork.
