basking in the sun
warming up with the day
turtles on a log
what else can I say
I can say I found some magic
on that log in that pond
good fortune came and changed
the life of which I am so fond
I can say there was a rainbow
that followed me all day
that people stopped and stared
and listened to what I had to say
I can say I found my purpose
basking on that log
and that life's balance
came down to me and my dog (Willow)
but really in that morning sun
with the croaking of a frog
all I could really say
was turtles on a log

The log seems like a good place for inspiration. Peaceful and tranquil.
I walk around a pond every morning taking pictures to use as inspiration for paintings . Yes it is a quiet peaceful place most mornings , thanks
Great write
Thanks Tony
WL, I don't see anything 'silly' in this poem. On the contrary, it is inspiring, a parable, a metaphor, with some humor thrown in for good measure. And the painting is awesome! And whoever framed it, did an excellent job (I used to own a gallery and frame shop a long time ago!).
That's interesting that you were a gallery owner and a framer , this frame I made from some mounding I bought at the local lumber yard and painted the middle part so it kind of looks like two frames , good fun . Thanks Fred fun comments
Silly is good, daft is great - and this great.
I like the way you frame the paint.
I read leisure in your poem.
Beautiful paint and relaxing poem.
Turtles can teach us so much about resting to take in the day. Good read .
This is a delight to read.
nuff said?
I love the painting and the poem goes with it very good. Cute one. Fun to read too.
Good write. This sounds like a wonderful relaxing time, can I join you on that log.
This poem made me smile, and laugh. This is funny. What is really nice about this poem though i feel is that it teaches you in a way to appreciate the small things in life, life's little blessings and life's little things or little creatures that make us awe. Good rhyming again as well. Great work! 😊❤💕
