  • Comment from author about the poem: I wrote this thinking about our friend Dusk Arising that asked me yesterday where the love had gone. Love is here. Love does not disappear from my heart. Even when I'm sad, questioning or quite, love still there. It is part of my nature.

Love is all there is. Love these expressions, Malu!

    • malubotelho

Thank you Louis. Yes, love prevails.

What a great poem! I love that you wrote (love) "in perfect doses; cure, in massive doses; harms. I have been on the receiving end of both. I think we all need it to sustain us. I LOVE this poem!

      • malubotelho

Thank you Christina. Anyone that truly loves, knows how to balance.

A fine write Malu. As long as no-one calls me 'luvvy'! lol.

        • malubotelho

Thank you Orch. I call people my love.

          • orchidee

Sometimes I might call them 'my love' too. But not 'luvvy'. That's a soppy thing that actors and actresses do! lol.

Great messages and - yes - love is what holds us together if only everyone would recognise that. great work Malu

            • malubotelho

Thanks Michael. A lot of people think that love is cliche and like to play as desperate and rebel. It is like it is in fashion now to be dark. I don't care and keep loving anyway.
Saying: Love me when I least deserve it, because it is then when I most need it.

Love the saying - must remember it when dealing with difficult folk - thanks Malu.

Great writing, Malu. I just love the last line. It perfectly sums up all the different kinds of love there are, just like a unifying theory of what love is. Maybe we can even compare love to duct tape: It has a dark side and a light side, and holds the universe together! 🙂

                • malubotelho

Hum, I like your theory Fred. Love as a duct tape. Where did you come up with it? Probably behind the door that you are afraid of open.

                  • FredPeyer

I actually paraphrased it from: Duct Tape is like the force (the force from star wars), it has a dark side and a light side, and holds the Universe together. So you see, I stole it and then adapted it.

Your description of love is so lovely and beautiful.

                    • malubotelho

Thank you. It is good for a soft heart like yours. Thanks for your comment.

Yes Malubotelho, love is everything and is the acceptance of everything, the good the bad and the suffering. For humanity love is most of all 'The Teacher'.
A beautiful response to doubt, thank you so much. Very levelling.

You are welcome my dear friend.
Love is so simple on it's best but sometimes people get all mixed up about it. I'm happy that you do understand it. One day I met a guy. He was so nice, loving and tender. He was looking for a relationship and we liked each other. I liked him. We went out three times and I told him that I loved him. Just like that. In a pure simple way. Next thing that happens was that he invited me out again and the day we were supost to meet I had a work emergency and had to call cancelling. Then he say we could see that Saturday and exactly that Saturday I had a church event and was only for ladies so I could not invite him. I told him the true but he said I was lying to him when I said I loved him. He said my love was pure bullshit. He got very upset and then I saw a complete different person than the one that I met. For three days he emailed me all sort of bad things. I told him that my love for him was not the kind of love he was thinking but he never could understand. I never saw him again.

That's sad Malu but its a part of life and i know you love life so you accept that its not an easy path we tread simply because we've 'seen the light'. As i said above, love teaches us. I expect you've reflected on that experience and seen that man had things along his path which caused him to react in that way. You could draw from that experience possibly two gems of wisdom 1) that he was indeed a very loveable man who's path had not led him to the wisdom to accept your word and take the risk you may be telling untruths (look what he lost - a lesson worth learning) and 2) that being such a warm and loving person, as you are, it can be unwise to fall romantically 'in love' without seeing some of the darker side you yourself now mention in your written piece.
It's a wonderfully complex subject for those who try to analyse it as i just did here but far easier on the mind if one just lovingly accepts what comes to you along your path. You're a wonderful person.

Thank you. Well, what we are today is what we are. The future is behind closed doors. Right today I was revising my life and I'm discovering feelings from my past that I might begin to write about. I'm like this today but I was not always the same. I truly appreciate your comments.

Very true write Mal. Love is all.
