Seeing the World Differently

Goldfinch60

They are all around you,

These strange people,

You just don’t understand them.

They could be artists

Who see the world in colours.

They could be poets

Who see the world in rhyme.

They could be writers

Who see it in words.

They could be mystics

Who see a completely

Different way of life.

But each of them can teach us,

They can teach us to see the world,

To see the world through different eyes.

Goldfinch, your great poem serves as a reminder to all of us to do exactly as you write. And writers especially need to see the world through as many different eyes as they possibly can.

Thank you Fred, there are so many close minded people in this world.

A fine write Gold. I admit I'm very closed-minded to some things. I feel it's for my own safety.

Thank you Orchi, life will always surprise you in a good way if your mind is opened, even if it is just a crack.

I'm terrible sometimes though. 'Why won't you even consider it? Grrrr'' some say to me about some subjects.

Very true Goldie - we need every one of these extraordinary people.

Yes Gold. Good thoughts, great message on your great writing. Everyone can teach us something. Even the animals can teach us a lot. Thanks for this writing.

Oh the blinkers of our own limited reality. Each day we set a mood for ourselves and meet our fellow man in shades of our mood, so easily visually forming a subconscious 'type' for each person we meet. Aren't we daft? Human nature to judge a book by its cover. That odd looking person could be the possessor of the most wonderful words or vision that could unlock so much wisdom for us. Yet he shuffles past our moods demeanor.
                  Provokative writing.

Thank you DA. Very true, there are so many people who can show us so much but are not 'my type of person', unfortunately this seems to be what life is like for many, frightened to try something different.

I love this map of the world ... depicted exactly as I see it. A fragmented, colorful blur. Your poem expresses great wisdom, Goldie! Thanks for sharing.
