Two Smiles

FredPeyer

Smile 1

I received a smile today

From a nice stranger

It lifted my spirits

Made me feel good

That smile was a gift

To be treasured

A Gift that needs to

Be given forward

Smile 2

Your smile reminds me

of an autumn breeze

Gently ruffling the leaves

And of a butterfly

Brushing a petal

Your smile floats wingless

Through the eternal ether

With a promise of a better

More fully loving and tender

Life ahead for both of us

I don't usually make comments, I just observe and read, but this is really beautiful.

Thanks so much Brie, for commenting! I do appreciate it.

A smile can break down even the most surly of folk: in a shop, on transport, in the street. I find a smile can always help and make a point of smiling at people - what a difference it makes. Love the write Fred.

Thanks Michael, my Mom used to say (this is a literal translation from German and may not make much sense in English): The way you yell into the forest, the forest will yell back at you!
It is absolutely amazing how many people react if you give them a BIG smile. They might have ported a big frown, but when they get your smile, their whole face lights up.

Smiles are so important in our lives and makes people react in a positive way (usually). Good write.

        "SMILE, IT CONFUSES PEOPLE"

        • FredPeyer

Thanks Goldfinch, love that "Smile, it confuses people', and it is true, sometimes it really does!

            Thank you so much orchidee!

A smile is universal, everyone understands it. : D

Let me greet you with a smile as i pass along the way.
For the smile is just my face letting my heart have it's way.
(specially composed in response to your poems here.. actually i've a good mind to publish that two liner.. Thanks for the inspiration).

                • FredPeyer

Sweet Fred. A smile is always gratifying. I think we should smile a lot more. In my pictures I look a lot younger if smiling.

                  • FredPeyer

Thanks Malu, we all look younger and more positive when smiling. Maybe people who are looking for the secret to stay young should just start smiling a lot more!
