(C) 2016 Edward York
The time of year is almost here,
When youngsters hit the street.
Traveling quickly door to door,
In hopes they'll get a treat.
Ghost and goblins are everywhere,
And can be seen in every place.
But behind the costumed fantasy,
Is a sweet and innocent face.
It is a time that is quite unique,
And we are uncertain of what's in store,
It is the only time we aren't afraid,
Of monsters at the door.
When the night is over and kids are home,
Their treats may seem so small,
But we know there is enough sugar,
They'll be bouncing off the wall.
When Halloween has faded to memory,
And we see the light of day,
We can take some comfort now,
Thanksgiving is on its way.

Ah, the holidays ... what would the economy do without them. Cute poem, LG!
It would just depend on Christmas, Easter, Mothers' Day, Valentines, Grand Parents Day. and so forth. Christmas decorations are up before Labor Day.
Boo hoo, UK does not have Thanksgiving. We got to wait until Christmas for our turkeys! A fine write Laser, though I'm not "into" Halloween myself.
I have a 4 year old grand daughter that loves being a princess, Halloween or not.
Love Halloween, the one day in the year I can take MY mask off! 🙂
Great poem, lasergraph.
A master of the flowing metre - nice one lasergraph.
