Tune: St Helen
('God of grace and God of glory')
2 Corinthians 1 v.3-7
********
Blesséd be God, He the Father
Blessings on us does confer
He the Father of our Lord sure
Christ who lives for evermore
He the Father of all mercies
And of all comfort, He sees
Sees our tribulations and He
Comforts us in them that we
May be able with that comfort
To comfort others, same sort
Of comfort that we have received
Consoling them in their need
For it is the same comfort sure
Strength and solace, whole and pure
That we have ourselves received, known
From God, now to others shown
Sharing in the sufferings here
Help each others load to bear
If in times of trial, affliction
Bright shall dawn our comfort's sun
Or if comforted, and easy
Load to bear it sometimes be
Whate'er be our situation
Comfort abounds for each one
So partaking all in highs, lows
Through all each God's grace He shows
Trusting Him, who shall not us fail
His love to us will prevail
Help us Lord, whate'er our state be
Your strong comfort, mercies see

- Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem in 878787. A bit long-winded maybe, but based on St Paul explaining things fully. A lot of 'comfort' in it - thankfully!

Well constructed O
Thanks M. It's necessarily a bit involved. You got any Comfort fabric conditioner?! Oops, that's not quite the sort of comfort meant here!
Yes I have actually - I use it on my 'Cross your Heart' underpants
Considering comfort through needed reminders that we are never alone - - a lovely thought here Orchi.
Thanks Fay.
Ahh, I see M. Your heart in your........? Well, some people talk out of it, so it's said! lol
Comfort.....something we all need. Your beautiful hymn will comfort many lost souls.
Thanks Fred. And 'found' souls too, I hope.
Another good one Orchi.
Thanks Gold.
