Less Trodden.
Key-stone of much conformity
hides in banality while
trite persuasion phrases straight
formalized lines.
Break with staid and difference
will strip tightly laced
to let in un-restraint and stretch
mere credulity.
Breach convention, invite insight,
then watch back-to-front
scribing turn mental somersaults
to violate customary.
Peer squint-eyed, allow curiosity
to welcome the Muse
revitalize by refusing an orthodox
commonplace pathway.
Sail out of a usual bathe in oddity
find rarer anomaly,
peruse free-style then decide on
being less ordinary.
Leave safe-shore solidity, sound
down with the lateral,
adopt mind-sets of dissimilarity,
leave norm on the ground.
Twist to seeing back-sidedness
fly with versing profound,
think more about quirky and less
around the accepted. .
Keeping an ear close to authentic
reveals originality yet
less trodden adds its own flavour
to what is poetic.

A fine write Fay. Erm, I tried it in some woods, but got lost! I've not got the hang of it yet! lol.
You probably missed out the back-sidedness Orchi
Fay, you've done it again. A masterpiece unlocking new pathways I never knew were there. ; )
Thanks FAY ~ Thos poem amplifies the cry of us all ~ irrespective of AGE ! "I WANNA BE FREE # AMEN" Yours as ever BRIAN (I'm off line for week !)
A complete and brilliant course in composing good poetry! So well presented here, Fay. Kudos!
After reading your fine poem, Fay, I do not need any University classes on writing! Going straight to my favs!
Forget the "path less taken," take the one never dreamed of. Your poem itself is original and unconventional. It will inspire many to follow their hearts and not their fears. Such a well composed poem, Fay. I loved it - Phil A.
