There was a time I didn't know
just how much you loved me so
I didn't take care of me
I wandered through this life
bitter, thinking of all the pain and strife
I'll tell you, it was a scary place to be
Now that I'm aware
Of how much you do care
Life is a much better place
I look forward to each day
And the kind things you will say
Knowing it has not been a waste
I try to make the day
better in every way
I finally have my chance and it is now
The bad times are behind me
