Rise Above

Christina8

Yesterday the verdict came down

but with a little bit of love

that it's time to stop letting

anxiety win-It's time to rise above!

Rise above the child in me who

is terrified of so many things

And let her go fly around town

I mean, grow a pair of wings

I should be able to get in my car

and drive to the store without fear

And go and get my hair and nails done

without someone I love being near

And when or if anxiety hits, to just

remember no one ever died from it, you know

Just regroup myself and pat myself

on the back for trying to grow

I've limited where I go alone for

far too long now--today, I am done

I'm hitting the stores by myself!

Can't wait 'til I can say I did it! I won!

Today I begin healing.

Time for me to rise above my anxieties.

          That's such a powerful write!
I hope you're hold her hand
          Skipping through the town
          Both showing off your wings
Then sit and enjoy some ice cream.

With freshly pampered nails of course!
Thank you for sharing your healing, it shall be passed on.

Then you will sparkle as much as we all think you do already

I am really proud of you Christina! For actually doing it and for writing this great poem about it.
You DID rise above, and there is no way back!!! You now have your wings and can do it again, and again...

Yep, everyday, do something different. That's the deal, until anxiety doesn't control me--I control it. I'm so glad for friends like you and all the support I've gotten today. Thanks for the awesome review!
