THE LOVE OF GOD ~ How rich and pure
How measureless and strong
It shall for evermore endure
A Saints and Angels song
Could we with ink the Oceans fill
And were the Sky of paper made
Were every blade of grass a quill
And every Man ~ the writers trade
To write the Love of God above
Would drain the Ocean dry
Nor could the scroll contain the whole
Though stretched from Sky to Sky !
The Love of God is greater far
Than tongue could tell ~ or pen could write
It reaches to the highest Star
For ME and YOU ~ both Day and Night !
All guilty Men ~ bow down with sin
God sent His Son to win
Each erring Child ~ God reconciled
And saved us from our sin ~ AMEN

Wonderful write Brian. I don't know the hymn! But if all done in 4 line stanzas, this fits to the tune 'Immortal love, for ever full'. Nope, not an 'oldie' but around the same time as your author.
And even more hymns needed than Wesley's 9,000+, including his unpublished hymns, I read?!
