JUSTIFIABLE DENIAL

Louis Gibbs

I was talking to an E.T. the other day

And he asked me some very

Embarrassing questions:

"Don't your people realize ...

Wars are a futile waste of resources?

Taking hard drugs results in addiction?

Despoiling the planet is a threat to existence?

And overpopulation can result in your demise?

I stammered around trying to think of a reply,

A possible defense to deflect the obvious.

Finally, all I could come up with was;

"Oh, I'm not really one of them.

I'm a disguised alien, Bro,

Just like you!"

Didn't stick around

To see if he bought it.

Louis, this is just great! It wasn't me, but him too! The old children excuse.
But really, what could we say in such a situation? That we are stupid?
I do like your way of writing and thinking.

Thank you kindly my friend. We've all, as parents, heard that excuse many times indeed. Your writing and way of thinking is much appreciated too, Fred!

          Louis,
          A powerful write!
Unfortunately, thatā€™s the world we live in right now! Unless things change, we are self destructing!

It will be interesting to see how it all plays out. Thanks for your input, Laura.

My reply would more than likely go like this: "Yes, all you say is true, there are those among us who know not what they do. And I can see your wisdom clearly, might I ask of your employment availability?"
            Great concept and write Louis.
