You are gone

myself and me

You are gone

like a kite with broken string

carrying by the wind

disappeared

in the unknown distance

I am still here

Looking up the sky blankly

holding the spool tightly

do not know

where I belong

M&M, you express that lonely feeling so well in just a few words. The kite metaphor is very well chosen. Holding the spool reminded me of the expression 'left holding the bag'.
One place though you DO belong, is on MPS, we don't want to be holding your spool!

Thank you for finding me a sweet home.

I think we can all identify with that lonely empty feeling of someone who is no longer there.

You express that lonely feeling so well with the metaphor you used in this poignant piece.

Lovely ... be the spool or be the kite ....stand rooted to the ground safe and figure things out slowly as you wind the string back in or do you cut the string and follow the wind not knowing where you’ll land .... either way you will find yourself.... nice writing M&M

Thanks WL. I will let the string go with the kite and find my own way to go.

Super emotive write, I do hope the kite is found and the string repaired.
