Searching for direction
My eyes follow the clouds
Their shifting formations
Mirroring life
Looking for beauty
I happen upon a rainbow
Delicately air brushed
Mirroring art
Trying to find solace
I walk in the forest
Where the stillness
Mirrors my soul
My eyes were opened
My mind enlightened
For the world outside
I am the mirror

We certainly reflect just like mirrors the world outside Fred - - a good comparison made on the differing things which make us what we are.
Thanks so much Fay! And yes, I believe we do.
Reflections of a great poet - great stuff Fred,
Thank you Michael, reflections yes, great poet no. Am still learning and slowly getting there thanks to you and so many others on MPS.
This was a wonderful read for a Saturday morning Fred. A beautiful reflection it is.
Thanks AP, glad you liked it!
Reflecting is part of our
existence! It is a good thing!
Great write!
Thank you Fred!
Mahalo Laura, and yes, it is a good thing!
Good day for some reflection, I am in that kind of mood myself , nice write
Thanks WL, it is amazing how our moods 'mirror' in our writings, or our writing 'mirrors' our moods! 🙂
Yes, a good 'reflective' write Fred! I see images in cloud formations sometimes. I saw one of a white hand recently - the hand of God?! 'Hand' in Scripture can often mean 'spirit' too.
Thanks orchidee. I too see images sometimes in clouds, then they change to something else, with new images coming up. We see in them what we want to see, so in a way they do mirror us.
Maybe sometimes or occasionally prophetic too? One morning on way to church I saw a cloud in the shape of Africa. I didn't know that in the service that day a couple were being sent out as missionaries to Africa. it was their farewell service!
That is amazing! It could have been projection if you would have seen the cloud AFTER the service, but seeing it BEFORE makes one wonder.
By reflecting Upon our world, do we create it? Is what we individually reflect To the world our contribution to existence? Deep philosophical questions arise from this fine poem, Fred. Well done!
Thanks Louis! You made my day with your comment. And now you got me thinking! If I find an answer to your questions, I will let you know, but Aristotle or Plato I am not!
Really great reflective write. A walk in the forest is always a great place to put you in that mood. And I just want to echo that you are a great poet!
Thanks so much, Christina. We are all great poets here on MPS! And that includes you!
Thank you for that kind comment! And I agree that we are all great poets!
Very good write, that stillness in our souls should be reflected throughout the world.
Beautiful comment, thank you Goldfinch!
