HEDGEHOGS are living pin cushions
Everyone loves a Hedgehog ~ they're
So weird and lovely and they live
Underground ~ Needles instead of hair !
Nocturnal creatures ~ out at night
A roasted Hedgehog ~ nice they say !
They taste like rabbit or squirrel
You roast them in a ball of clay !
TIGGY WIGGY's Hospital is .....
A place where orphaned Hedgehogs go
Their Mothers have been squashed by cars
In Hedgehog Country ~ PLEASE DRIVE SLOW !
Baby Hedgehogs are so so sweet
Please protect those that live in your street !

Oh such beautiful creatures - a really good hedgehog tribute dear Brian - made me recall one I saw in my garden a few years ago and who came back often for a late supper.

Very true Brian, baby hedgehogs are very sweet. We have one visiting our garden occasionally which is now a very rare site compared to my childhood when they were everywhere.
Thanks for your comment ANDY ~ and observation ! I agree ~ there is a diminution in all species of wildlife. The main problem is increasing urbanisation and consequent destruction of habitats and human interference with delicate Food Chains & Food Webs etc ! Yours BRIAN

Nice ode to a lesser known little creature! They are sweet, as long as you don't try to grab them. Ever seen a dog with needles sticking out of its snout?
Thanks FRED ~ They are pretty vulnerable so that have to have some built in protection ! The babies at quite soft to handle ~ dogs and cats avoid them after the first encounter ! BRIAN
