Tune: Sine Nomine
('For all the saints')
*******
You saints above, who bright in glory shine
Now do behold the countenance divine
And do partake of eternal fare fine
Alleluia, Alleluia!
Yet too on earth, your people saints you make
Sanctified, the price you paid for our sake
We redeemed, on cross you our place did take
Alleluia, Alleluia!
And ongoing, sanctifying process
We changed to image of your Son no less
By working of your Spirit we confess
Alleluia, Alleluia!
We all saints, not just some preferred elite
Accepted by you at your mercy seat
Sharing in your victory, not defeat
Alleluia, Alleluia!
Mansions you prepare us, you gone before
Giving us grace now from your treasure-store
To grow in all things loving, true, and pure
Alleluia, Alleluia!
We have no merits of our own, for we
Cannot ourselves save, this you know and see
And sent us Christ, our Saviour for to be
Alleluia, Alleluia!
All glory, honour, praise and thanks your due
Salvation you bring us, you great things do
Graces and gifts your people you endue
Alleluia, Alleluia!
'Till Rapture calls us to eternal shore
There to be with you, our Lord evermore
We endless shall praise, worship, and adore
Alleluia, Alleluia!

THANKS ANDY ~ I enjoyed the Hymn (via youtube) and the Poem. We are having a LIGHT PARTY tonight for local Kids and Parents. Thanks for lifting us Heavenward and reminding us of the true meaning of HALLOWS EVE and ALL SAINTS DAY (Nov 1st) ~ Yours St Brian of Essex !
Now, I'm St Stephen - I'm also a hymn tune! lol. St Andy is Goldie. Great to have a light party. Telly is horrible - all black and dark stuff; people dressing up as demons. Makes them look degraded and wretched. If they knew how stupid they looked, they may not do it. And these were adults.
Very nicely written, orchidee! I truly enjoy your writing!
Thanks Fred.
Alleluia indeed.
Thanks Gold. Someone was a bit grouchy, cos a hymn had lots of Alleluias in it! Doh! Well, there were 35 spread over 7 verses. lol
