Throughout our lives we do it,
We go into the unknown.
Each new problem
We tackle with trepidation
Until it is behind us.
It may just be a little thing,
A thing of no significance,
But if unknown it grows in our mind.
It may be of importance,
But until it is overcome,
We may not know.
Life is like that,
The older you become
You look back on your problems
And see that they have gone.
There will be more ahead,
But your experience will help,
Will help you to deal with them.
Once all your problems are solved
You will realise that in your life
You have been a hero.

I'd like to think so Andy - super writing.
Thank you Michael.
Great writing Andy, but as far as I am concerned, I am no hero. And do you believe that there will be a day where all of our problems will be solved? In this life, I mean.
Problems will always be there but if we can deal with them in a peaceful way we can go on in joy.
A hero to yourself. Great concept Goldie.
I am no hero, I am just getting old.
I'm with ya there buddy. ; )
A fine write Gold.
Folk are certainly heroes if their problem is that they have to hear me sing! heehee.
Thank you Orchi.
it mostly takes someone to make the judgement of someone being a hero. you never realise it yourself, someone normally lets you know. what do we have to do to become a hero?. go to war, work in coffee shop or just sit at home writing poetry. recognition is great but remaining humble is greater and there is humbleness in all of us. if ever you get to saved a dying person, does that mean your a hero, I don't think so, it's called being naturally normal. great thought provoking write.
Thank you Kevin, it is surprising tat the little things that we do in our lives can make a great difference in the life of others.
I think there is a hero waiting in all of us. Fine write Goldfinch!
Thank you Christina, I am sure there is.
Well written and expressed
Thank you Tony.
Welcome
Let not a man be judged by the wealth he has amassed troughout his life but rather by the obstacles he overcame to achieve them (wealth here in its broadest sense to include family, friends and the wealth of wisdom, compassion and contentment).
Very true da, thank you for your comment.
