Homeless Junkie sits
huddled in a damp blanket
for him no CHRISTMAS !
His children are still
asleep ~ while their Father ~ brushed
the snow off his car !
A hot Summer night
turn my pillow to cool side
and dream of ANGELA !
So this is Spring ~ Birds
singing ~ Lambs gambolling ~ so
why are YOU so SAD ?
How can one small Tree
produce enough Autumn leaves
to fill three black bags ?
Thanks for visiting ~ please chose your favourite ~
mine is No. 3 ! Comments welcome ~ Love BRIAN XOX
All these HAIKU are related to the Four Seasons which
is one of the criteria for a classical Haiku. Also an English
Haiku has to follow the 5 7 5 syllable pattern for Rhythm.

Great homage to the seasons Brian.
Thanks Michael ~ The beauty og HAIKU is one can make statement on JUST 17 syllables ! Thanks BRIAN
Caro Amico BRIAN!
I like all five! Of course,
number three would be
your favorite! My favorite is
number four!
Favorite word in number
four...gambolling!
I can see them frolicking
about! What a beautiful
sight! Great write with a
perfect illustration!
I appreciate your
explanatory notes at the
end of your poems! Grazie!
Saluti ed Abbracci...
~Laura~
GRAZIE LAURA ~ CARA AMICA ~ De certo numero tre per mio ! Yes I liked No. 4 For me SPRING is wonderful and watching new born Lambs "gambolling" convinces me there is a GOD ! But of course many are still SAD even though Winter has gone ! Ma grazie a Dio siamo felici ! Baci e Abbracci ~ BRIAN ~ Uomo sempre felico ! XOXOX
Great Haiku for the seasons. The first one was sad. So I liked no. 4! Spring is so hopeful! I should try my hand at some Haiku-. Nice job! Sisterly hugs-Christina
THANKS PRECIOUS ~ I love every Season and for ME & YOU every Season is Happy but also tinged with sadness ~ c'est la vie ! YES number 4 ~ birds & lambs etc do make us rejoice ~ but there is still some sadness in the World ! Haiku are easy and many that are published (in English) do not adhere to the 5 7 5 pattern ~ but publish anyway ~ I wouldn't spank you for that ! BUT I would HUG you in the SPIRIT ! Brother Brian @@@@@@@
A fine write Brian. Now I had an idea that the swooniest one might be your favourite! heehee.
Thank you STEVE
I always swoon & spoon
On CHRISTMAS Eve
So blow up a BALLOON
It's never too soon
To SWOON !
Yours BRIAN
Oohh swoon and spoon. Don't tell me what's going on with the balloon. I might never recover! lol.
Soon the holiday season will be here, with the happy song everywhere, while thinking of those struggle with life, it hurts.
Nice poem.
HI M & M ~ Life is never a level playing field ~ BUT if we have been blessed in 2017 ~ Christmas is always the perfect place to share ! Christmas Hugs ~ BRIAN
Love them all. Great write
Thanks TONY ~ pleased I scored a full house with you ! Yours BRIAN
All the five appealed to me Brian but I have to admit number three gave me an insight into who those hot summer nights invite into your dreams. Lovely tribute to all the seasons my friend.
Thanks FAY ~ I know you always enjoy attempts at Japanese Style poetry ! In JAPANESE of course there is an added factor of the WRITTEN (painted) symbols ! The same is true of BULGARIAN ~ RUSSIAN etc. You know that when you find your TRUE LOVE ~ they are the ONE that fills your DREAMS ~ Yours as ever BRIAN
I enjoyed the write. I have often wondered how one tree can make so many leaves.
Thanks LG ~ One of my students asked me that so I gave her the problem to solve ! Her conclusion was: An Oak Tree (for instance) has about 30 layers of leaves as you go up the tree ~ When the leaves fall there is only one layer (plane) the ground ! So technically if they all fell vertically the pile of leaves would be 30 leaves deep ! But because they are blown by the wind they cover a greater area ~ but under and around the tree they can be 10+ leaves deep ! Yours BRIAN
Buenas Noches Brian. Yo me gusta el haiku de invierno.
I like the plot twist at the end.
GRACIAS AMIGO ~ L'INVIERNO is a great Season for HAIKU ! My friend in IOWA brushed a foot of snow off his car before he went to bed. When he woke up to go to work ~ there was 2 feet ~ He now lives in Tampa Florida ! Hasta la Vista ~ BRIAN
No favorite for me here, like all five of them!
