IN PRAISE OF MILK
Such wonderful products held in esteem
like yoghurt and cheese and thick rich cream
and not forgetting English butter
and all of them made from extract of udder.

I do like the 'extract of udder'. Good write Michael.
That description has been in my mind fore quite some time - not sure if it's mine or if I heard it somewhere but anyway it makes a fun shortie.
A tasty write Michael.
Tastes even better with lactuca de moo Cheers O.
Love the yoghurt, love the cheese, and the thick rich cream too...in my coffee!
English butter?...never had!
Enjoyed the read while sipping my brew!
The term English butter over here conjures up ideas of real home made butter - I can recall as a youngster we used to buy it from the slab cut with a wire by the shop assistant in much the same way as cheese is cut. Thanks Laura.
Thank you Michael!
Very fun but couldn’t get past the bull picture lol .... actually nice work Michael
Don't upset him Bill - thanks for comment.
Fun to read and fun to watch.
As long as it doesn't curdle - thanks m&m
Love the four-line tribute to 'extract of udder' here, Michael! So well done.
It's a great term isn't it? Thanks Louis.
You drunk all today's milk by now?!
No there was none left – it was all used up in all the products that Madeleine the milk maid made !!
I remember that butter being patted and cut with a wire for my mum. Cheese too...... then along came yogurts (Eden Vale) and life began to get complicated (growing up). Great waft of nostalgia in your words. And now its even healthy to eat butter again.... what madness have we endured (blue band marg in 4 rectangular packs) and now they tell us our lovely bovines are the cause of global warming!!! How dare they? Look what you've started! LOL
Preserve the cow - my Aunty used to work in an International Store where the butter was cut to customers request - yes it's good to look back but even better to look forward
Your great little poem reminded me of a time when I was little, watching a farmer milk his cow (by hand, not machine) and drinking still warm fresh milk directly from the cow. Delicious!
