Tune: Doncaster

('Put thou thy trust in God')

********

My Lord God, look and see

Do not abandon me

Remember my need, see me here

With your grace do appear

For many evil thoughts

And horrid fears of sorts

Trouble my mind, and terrify

Save me, lift me on high

How shall I unhurt pass

Through them, not cry alas

How shall I break their power, hold

Guard me within your fold

'Tis by your word, you said

You will go before, led

Shall I be, and humble the proud

That state to them endowed

Hidden treasures, secrets

You will reveal, befits

Me not to deserve here such things

Yet them your mercy brings

Come to me, put to flight

Lord, all of dark and night

I trust in you and on you  call

My comfort, all in all

        Great metre Orchi.

Thanks Michael. Dunno why 6.6.6.6. is not Short Metre instead. That short metre has one line of 8 syllables in it - only one allowed, mind you. I shall lose sleep if it's out of metre! lol.

Nice execution with the rhymes - they draw one down into the wellspring of the soul where one cries for unity with its Creator.
