afraid

dusk arising

you were afraid of me weren't you
i never wanted you to be like that
'you're too good' you said
i never understood those words then
but when you looked into my eyes i saw love

and laying with you i told you
'i'm falling in love with you'
you said nothing in response
i felt your wanting to believe me
there was no hurry, love is love.

falling into your beautiful eyes
i felt my love growing time and again
slowly we began to say 'i love you' with our goodbyes
and later we could say those words laying naked
i felt the need in both of us

out of its spiteful reality
our destiny was to fail one another
of all the things we said to each other that day
the thing which cut me so deep were your words
'i never believed a word you said anyway'

you have expressed what loves damages can do to a human soul. it's filled with everything and more than anyone can imagine. great work.

Very good emotive write, words can do so much more damage than physical violence.

So well done dusk. You have expressed that words are more harmful than anything physical. So sad! Thanks for sharing this write!
