Void filled star spangled night sky
Seducing lovelorn red necks
Imprinting visions of patriotic grandeur
Void filled star spangled night sky
Mirroring in lover’s eyes
Promising everlasting love
Void filled star spangled night sky
Rescuing the souls of the lonely
Dim light brightening their future
Void filled star spangled night sky
Guiding light for the lost
Returning them back to the path
Void filled star spangled night sky
There for all to see
But received only by the few

An eloquent and fine write Fred.
Thanks so much, orchidee, not as eloquent as yours, but getting there!
A grand write Fred
Thank you! Coming from a master, this is high praise, indeed! 🙂
By inspired poets such as you and I. This write is as beautiful as the night sky. One of my most favorite past times is star gazing. Thanks for posting Fred.
Thank you AP, where I live, there are no street lights and very little other light sources, so if is a cloud-less night, the sky is just incredible!
You must be able to see most of the Milky Way. I get a little more light pollution where I am.
a fine touch of writing, FredPeyer.
Thanks so much, Kevin! I try, I try.....
Very good and very true Fred, so few see.
Thanks Goldfinch. Too many people are looking down at their feet instead of up!
Night sky so appealingly described in this perceptive write Fred - true it's majesty is "there for all to see - but received only by the few"
Thank you Fay! Sometimes we do not see the forest because of the trees!
Great write
Thanks so much Tony! I appreciate you reading and commenting!
Welcome
I'm afraid I'm one of the few who do not see the "Star spangled night sky". Damn night-blindness! But hey, I'm blessed to have the vision I have!
I like the lead-in lines of each phrase repeating as the poem progresses. Nice effect, good write, Fred!
Thanks so much, Louis! I am so sorry about your night-blindness. You don't see anything at night? How about during the day? My sister has MS and her sight is slowly going bad to a point where she has to use a magnifying glass to read the newspaper.
My day vision is fine. My eyes just don't dark-adapt at all. I see but a very few of the brightest stars. Thanks for asking, and have a wonderful Thanksgiving, Fred!
And a very happy Thanksgiving to you too, my friend!
Reading your poem under the night sky, fell asleep with star sparkle above.
...and stars in your eyes!!! Thank you m&m for a very nice comment!
Awesome writee Fred.
Thanks so much, RR!
A very beautiful write with brilliant imagery and message, nice one Fred!
Thanks so much, poetboy, for reading and commenting!
Always wanted to live in a dark sky area where you can see the Milky Way everyday I have a pretty dark sky where I live but not dark enough ! Like your poem
Thanks WL! I love to watch that night sky and am lucky to be able to on most days.
Beautiful write Fred! You captured the night sky wonderfully
Thanks skye, and it goes so well with your name!
