THANKSGIVING DAY ~ A Rhyming Acrostic

BRIAN & ANGELA

Thanks give to GOD ~ Bounteous Provision

Harvest each year ~ those who work with precision !

A small group of Pilgrims sailed from the UK

New Life to seek in a Land far away !

Kept faith in GOD for safety and care

And also befriended ~ those who lived there.

GOD blesses those  ~ talking to Him in prayer

I know they were brave  ~ for what they have done

Their very first Harvest ~ Sixteen twenty one !

In every year since ~ give thanks ~ Celebration

Now we honour those who founded the Nation !

Give GOD the Glory with loud Exaltation !

DAY of THANKSGIVING for those gone before

A foundation they laid in those days of yore

You & I thank GOD for His Blessings galore !  AMEN

Thanks for visiting ~ Comments welcome ~ Love Brian XOX

    Thanks Brian,

What an awesome poem. I remember my late mother was in the US one year during Thanksgiving which she celebrated with relatives whilst staying there.

She found celebrating Thanksgiving in the US an amazing experience which obviously means a lot more to Americans than Xmas.

    Keep writing

A clear and beautifully rhymed account of the reason for Thanksgiving Day - - a worthy time to be celebrating the bravery of the first pilgrim fathers. Thanks for sharing it Brian my friend.

Well said, Brian! And you are right, Thanksgiving is HUGE, even in Hawaii, which is quite different from the Mainland.

Thanks FRED ~ I love Hawaii and it would be a great place to celebrate Thanksgiving ~ with Local cuisine of course ! Yours BRIAN
