My feet put to the fire
In a situation that was dire
Overcame a fear because I was needed;
Then came more tests
to show I was blessed
and then those calls were heeded.
I hadn't much driven
'cause in fear I was living
It had the power over me;
So I did just fine
Had some help from divine
No panic, just drove calmly.
Still I'm doing day by day
Sometimes going out of my way
To make sure things are getting done;
Proud I can drive so far so soon
Thought I'd be singing a different tune
But this battle has not yet been won.

Thanks FineB, it is appreciated!
I love the way you penned this poem to tell us, the readers, about the fear of driving!
I applaud you Christina! You’re much more brave than I was at your age to drive! Drive every chance you get! The more you drive, the more confidence you’ll build! Drive and be safe!
Well I'm in my thirties and have just had this problem recently. I'm trying to 'rise above' this issue and get on with my life, but it is difficult. Thanks for your read and reply!
My daughter is thirty-nine and doesn’t drive...in California!! She uses her driver’s license for ID purposes only!
My son on the other hand is the total opposite! Started driving at sixteen! Two children from the same parents! Go figure!!
Thank you for sharing your experience! 🙂
You’re welcome, Christina!
Well written and expressed
Thanks Tony!
