I looked out and saw it,
Yes, they were right.
It was so large,
So beautiful,
That bright light
That looks over us.
It brings lovers together
And this night
That love would grow
As it looks down
On all in love.
Protecting them,
Reminding them,
That love is forever,
And is always growing.
Yes I looked out
And I saw it,
That beautiful,
That wondrous sight,
Of that supermoon
Bringing love to all.

- Comment from author about the poem: It was a supermoon during the night the moon looking the largest it could have been in 2017. The picture of it is the one I took at 5:30 am GMT this morning, an hour and a half ago.

I saw it first thing - it lit up the whole of our cul-de-sac shining on wet roads, pavements and water - it was indeed quite some sight. Great write about this unusual event.
Thanks Michael, it was quite a sight.
'I, I who saw nothing', to amend that song. I was in bed, and it was all cloudy here. doh! Good write. Is it made of cheese?
It was out last night as well but my pictures of it were not as good as the ones this morning.
Erm, well it was cloudy when I got up here. But how would I know if the moon was out if I was asleep? I've snookered myself now! lol.
Funny we both wrote about the moon tonight 🙂 I was moved so much by its presence the past few days I couldn't resist. It's incredible what moonlight can make us feel.
Very true Nick, it can create such wonderful feelings.
Beautiful poem AND beautiful picture, Goldfinch! It is amazing how we connect love to different things like this moon, roses, rainbows and more.
Thanks Fred, yes it is amazing to what love is connected to all those things.
Very nice poem and picture, GF. I missed seeing the moon last night! But good job on this one!
Thank you Christine, it was quite a sight to see.
Inspiring to all, but to poets especially it seems. Fine tribute to this wondrous part of our world, Goldie!
