ODE TO BARBIE

lasergraph

(c) 2017 Edward York.

Christmas was approaching,

And it became clear,

From the hustle and bustle,

It was that time of year.

Presents were needed,

In the crowds I would race,

It seemed Barbie was homeless,

And needed a place.

Habitats for Humanity,

was nowhere in sight,

I was left on my own,

In solving my plight.

I found my solution,

Came packed in a kit

And all that was needed,

Was to put together it.

I had parts and pieces,

All scattered about.

But we couldn't have Barbie,

Just doing without.

It was a two story mansion,

With a lamp that gave light,

Furniture for Barbie,

And walls the right height.

An elevator came got you,

Wherever you are,

And a garage that would open,

For a little pink car.

A pool for relaxing,

And a grill that's out back,

And all that was needed,

Was for me to unpack.

Nice to see Barbie has a new home. All she needs now is a pet dog or cat.

I can remember many years ago when one of our Granddaughters had a Barbie Van for Christmas, it took us two hours to get the thing together!

It is intimidating when looking at all the pieces. But after some walls go up your confidence level gets better.
