I woke 2.30am the other night
Maybe just a normal waking from sleep
Then going back to sleep again
Or - maybe something deep in my subconscious?
Or in my spirit?
I heard news later that a lovely church friend
Had passed away that same time
Described as 'Wonderful and beautiful' - she was
Not that she passed away at an early age
But neither was she elderly
But it's the 'c' word - you know.....
We can't know 'Why'
The good taken first sometimes?
'Another lily gathered' for heaven?
As the title of a book says
About a 13 year old boy taken early
Yet it won't be mourning as for those who have 'no hope'
As St Paul says
She would be glad to go there - to heaven
If the truth is known
There's a husband and three children I know of
The eldest is a teenager
A Christmas with a dark cloud for them
Yet hope of a Christmas
Jesus, the light of the world
Good bye, J.
We miss your warmth, love, and friendliness
Your accepting and welcoming everyone
Your prominent and 'well-known' place in the church
Never standing on ceremony though
As one said to me one day:
'See you in the Rapture. if not before!'
By God's grace, we'll all see you there
Erm - enjoy perfect sherry and pork pies too (heehee)
In fact, heaven and perfection for ever!
You wouldn't mind me saying that
With your humour - another gift of yours too!
I shall weep a tear or two for you soon
I am numb - we are numb - at the moment....

What a wonderful heartfelt write and tribute to an obviously well loved lady. I am sure the Lord will be with her and her family and friends at this time.
Thanks Gold. It's true of her. I didn't want to be sentimental or overdo it. Some we might not say the same - they might be grumpy, etc, as part of their personality, or whatever makes them grumpy.
Sorry for your loss! It is amazing that you woke up at that exact time. I do believe that there are spiritual connections that are unexplainable.
And orchi, you wrote a really beautiful and heartfelt tribute to your friend.
