I travel through the ether
Bringing light to all.
The darkest of moments I see
And their sadness comes to me,
But that sadness is dispelled
With the brightness
I bring into their lives.
I see people when they are so low,
Contemplating death,
That final blow to their lives,
But I reassure them
And switch on a light
For them to follow,
To follow out of their darkness,
But they should know
That even if their body dies
I will be with them,
The Spirit of Life
Goes on for Eternity.
That even in death,
There will be light.

- Comment from author about the poem: This came to me after I had read and commented on Hood's poem '"Attention". In my comment I said "Even in the darkness you found pain and that pain caused you to survive so maybe in your darkened thoughts the light was switched on by somebody, maybe it was an ethereal me." That Idea of an 'ethereal me' made me think and this poem was the result.

A fine and encouraging write Gold. 'Dark writes' may not be our genre, and we can pick and choose what to read. Yet we know it helps folk to write what is on their minds, whether it's their usual genre or not.
Thanks Orchi.
It's an honour not appreciated by many to give support to others in their darkest hours - fine work Andy.

Goldie,
Wow! This is so powerful! At our darkest moments, this is the poem (your words) to be remembered and recited like a prayer! A definite favorite I shall save!
