waltz mote

Frank Prem

I watched
for a time

I had to choose
among the colours

among the drifters

discern
amongst the rhythms
that moved them
the lights
that illuminated them

I had to choose one
that was pretty

and then
I joined in

we moved around

we shone
and we sparkled
around
and around

we danced

around and around
and
around and around

the last remaining
on the dance floor
one more twirl
around
in the light

then we parted
and the music …

Thanks for posting FRANK it touched a Chord ! So often when you participate in a Formal Dance ~ At a Wedding ~ On Holiday ~ At a Conference etc ~ You dance fleetingly with a LADY and are lifted on too a higher plain ! You escort her back to her table and thank her for the pleasure ! You know (deep down) you will never see her again ~ BUT ~ wish you could ! Thanks for sharing BRIAN

Cheers Brian. I'm delighted you enjoyed this little dance. Thank you.

KP (Katie Price) me wife, wanted a dance, but I told her she needs to take this ball and chain off, that she put on me leg!

Get over it O. Onto the floor with the Katie P, and dance, you slacker!!

            • orchidee

Ok then, but do you hear the clang of the ball and chain? It's a very slow waltz for me, lugging this about!

            • Laura🌻

...and the music played on !!
Great write Frank! It certainly has touched a few chords!

A poignant write, my friend. May you be enjoying a good Christmas with friends and/or family, Frank!

                • Frank Prem

Working through Christmas, Louis, avoiding family as best I can, but having a good Christmas, regardless.

I hope yours has been a great one.

Lovely write, my dancing days are over but the music lingers on.

The thought sometimes substitutes adequately for the deed, GF.

                    Cheers.
