he hides
behind a pen
hides
behind a word
hides behind the ink swirled
onto paper
no one knows
who he is
who he’s been
he is only
a masque
of woven words
read
read
whatever he writes
read
read
every story
read and read
the key is in the art
read
and read
the words that support him
the ink
from the pen
of the writer

You mean me?! lol. Or any one of us?! heehee.
Definitely you, O. I see you!!
The words, over time, reveal the writer, indeed. One cannot hide behind their words for long. Good write, Frank!
Thanks Louis. Hope you've had a good festive time.
"The moving hand doth WRITE and having WRIT moves on ~ Nor all thy piety or wit can lure it back to cancel half a LINE ~ Nor all thy tears wash out a WORD of it !" We should be careful what we write (I have written letters and then burned them instead of posting) and having written (in draft ?) be even more careful if we post it in the Public Domain (like MPS !). In some circumstances the PEN can be mightier then the SWORD ~ BUT ~ Writers have died falling on their own manuscript ! Thanks FRANK for sharing a great poem ~ Thought for Food ? ! BRIAN
Think I tripped over a sentence a little while back, Brian. Perhaps a stray stanza ...
Thank you and cheers to you.
That ink, that pen and those words are specific to each writer, we may never know who they are but their words are life to us.
I think so too, GF. Thank you.
