I have a daughter
She's 42 now
And I am 43
Today is her birthday
Reporters came
They came not for her
But for me
You see miracles of miracles
I never get older than 43
A reporter stepped up
and to my face said to me
"Pardon me ma'm
But you look like you're 63."
"Well young man," I said
(holding back a slap from my hand)
"You don't understand.
I am still 43."
Then to my horror
(though I adore her)
My daughter  said to me
"Mom, I didn't want to tell you before
And hope you won't get sore,
But you do look like you are 63."
So I looked in the mirror
For the first time in years
OMG I thought
Almost in tears
I quickly decided
(despite all that transpired)
Not to agree.
So I said
"No, you're all wrong. Â
I look like I'm 43."
The reporters packed up
Saying they'd had enough
And shuffled out of the door.
My daughter  turned to me
"Mom, I was just kidding
Giving you a ribbing
Of course you look 43."
"Of course." I replied
As she let out a sigh
And smiling she said to me
"I love you Mom."
"I love you too."
Happy Birthday my baby
Happy Birthday to you."

Oh to be 43 again - I'd be younger than my children - good fun write.
Very cute. I am 40 now and completely understand the denial in this piece lol. I believe I am done aging myself.
