SNOWDROPS Hidden growing beneath the SNOW
NOBODY knows they are there ~ till
ONE day out they pop ~ brilliant
WHITE ! Their deep green foliage ~ so
DARK against the white snow ~ awesome
REMINDS us of all the Blessings
OF FLOWERS ~ Colour ~ Scent ~ Healing
PLETHORA of Blessings ~ freely given !
BEAUTY ~ In a WORLD ~ increasingly DARK !
EXAMPLES are Flander's Poppies
A GLIMPSE of Hope ~ in a Field of Death !
UP POP the Snowdrops ~ remind us
THAT we're not having an Ice Age
YET ! Everywhere SPRING must come soon ! AMEN !
Thanks for visiting ~ Comments Welcome ~ LOVE BRIAN
This is obviously an Acrostic Sonnet (9 + 6 = 14 lines)
BUT there is another important factor in a Blank Verse
(non-rhyming) Sonnet ~ it must scan to give it rhythm !
Most of the lines are iambic terameter (8 syllables per line)
except forw thr opening and closing line of each Verse. Lines
1 & 9 and 10 & 14 which are in iambic pentameter (10 syllables
per line ! A poem should have Rhyme & Rhythm or at least ONE !

Welcome
Wonderful acrostic full of hope! Great pic too! We won't be seeing soon for many months, those snowdrops will be a welcome sight! Great job! Sisterly hugs, Christina
Thanks CHRIS ~ In the SOUTH of England all our Seasons are less severe than in the USA ~ so our Snowdrops and then the crocuses and daffodils and tulips will all appear ~ we pack our Gardens with bulbs that come up every year "In an English Country Garden !" they are all seasonal indicators ! You live in a very beautiful State ~ but there is always a PRICE to pay ! Brotherly Hugs as always ~ BRIAN @@@@@@@
Well done, Brian! I remember them from Switzerland, but haven't seen any in a long long time.
