MY GOD IN HEAVEN BE PRAISED !

BRIAN & ANGELA

WHEN MORNING GILDS THE SKIES

My Heart awakening cries

MY GOD in Heaven be praised

Whether at Work or Prayer

I know that HE is there

MY GOD in Heaven be praised !

To GOD Our Lord on high

Angels in Heaven cry

The GOD of Peace be praised

So let us too upraise

Our voice in Hymns of Praise

The GOD of Peace be praised !

Let all the World around

In harmony resound

MY GOD of JOY be praised

Let Earth and Sea and Sky

All joyfully reply

MY GOD of JOY be praised ~ AMEN !

A fine hymn-poem in 6.6.6.6.6.6. metre there Brian. Aww, is the hymn SO old?! heehee. It's in my 'repertoire; with tune name Laudes Domini by Joseph Barnby. The earliest date I found was 1828. Yep, that's fairly old!

THANKS for the provenance STEVE ~ 1828 ~ well before my time (b. 1983 !) and the language is pre-Victorian ! I always state some source ~ if its not original. Pleased you liked it ~ BRIAN
