No Regret

FredPeyer

Standing at the kitchen window

All by himself at last

His mind is far away

Somewhere in his past

He sees a young man laughing

Unconcerned, ready for anything

With the whole world as his kingdom

He was sure to be the king

But life sometimes has other plans

And dreams do not come true

Expectations are not fulfilled

Successes are far apart and few

We start to wonder if we were wrong

If we should have taken another way

Maybe should have changed something

But, be that as it may

Life has a life all of its own

We just take whatever it is we get

Are glad for the good times we have

And look back without regret

Looking back it was quite okay really but it's even more okay looking forward - super work Fred

    • FredPeyer

Thanks, Michael, yes, you are right, but only after we are ok with the past can we look forward.

Good write and very true Fred, we take what life gives us and the choices we take. The 'what if?' question will always be asked.

      • FredPeyer

Thanks Goldie! That dreaded what if question! It is a little like the Monday morning quarter backs. No matter what we think, the past is the past, and we better accept it.

          • FredPeyer

Thanks Michael, life can be crazy, or beautiful, or dreadful, or boring. I honestly think a lot has to do with the way we look at it.

It is what it is, and is just what we signed up for, is it not? Nice work, Fred.

            • FredPeyer

Thanks Louis, your comment is right on! We did sign up for it and now just have to make it work. And as I said, no matter what: no regrets! Always love to hear from you! Mahalo!
