Residing at the core of our being
Unimaginable, elusive, fleeing
Impossible to fully define
Universal yet entirely mine
A lifeline into the past
Microscopic, inconceivably vast
Opening my eyes ever wide
Into possibilities with nothing to hide
Awareness clear and pure
With nothing to obscure
Letting me be in the know
Causing imagination to flow
Raising questions in my mind
Helping me see where I was blind
Permeating the true me whole
Consciousness IS my soul

Great write
Thanks Tony! Appreciate your comment!
deep work into the human soul and your existence which is revealing your inner thoughts. a brace shout out here, Fred, encouraging work about the revelation of mind.
Thank you Kevin! I am immensely interested in mind/soul/consciousness. Unfortunately I know very little, but hope to slowly get to understand it better. Am trying to read up on it, both the physical aspect on how the brain works and the psychological/philosophical. There is so much we don't understand. The same goes for out of body experiences, ESP (extra sensory perception), etc.
it's a lifetimes worth of work, my friend, with our pens we only skim the surface of whatever is beneath us.
The final line really punched. Great write, I love your work!
Thanks so much Aislinn! Looking at it again, I think you are right! Sometimes it takes another pair of eyes to see something.
A great existential write, Fred ... profound and deep. I hope you will let me know when you get it all sorted out.
Thanks Louis, I think this will be a discussion we will have on 'the other side'. Doubt that I can sort it out within my present life-time. But heck, I can try!
Someone has been swimming in deep waters! It's always interesting to see what others find "in there". Certainly makes for fascinating writing.
Thanks Heather, when one is surrounded by the Pacific Ocean, it is easy to 'swim in deep waters'! Thanks for reading and commenting!!! (Had to come up from deep down just to read your comment)
A deep write and Aislinn is right - great last line - super work Fred.
Thanks Michael, am appreciative that you read and commented! That last line appeared out of nowhere, but you are right, it fits!
Very good write, your soul may also be your conciousness.
Thanks Goldfinch, you are right, but it would not have rhymed! 🙂
Thank you Fred for my first laugh of the day (its is 7:55 in the morning here in the UK).
It's 9:55 pm Saturday in Hawaii! You are talking with yesterday and I am talking with tomorrow. Looks like we are time travelers!
Love this piece Fred! It's so deep and meaningful 🙂
Thanks skye! Since consciousness is buried somewhere deep inside, we have to dig a little to get to it! 🙂
