There it is,
The light shining in my life.
As I look into the darkness
The light is all around me,
I look out from the window,
And the light is still there.
I climb into bed
Thinking of the light,
This wonderful sight
That is always with me,
Always within me.
I sleep a dream-filled sleep,
Glorying in the light of my mind.
I awake before dawn,
Look out,
And the light is still with me,
As I come down the stairs
The light gets stronger,
And then it stops!
Darkness is upon me!
As I switch off the outside light!

A totally unexpected ending! Maybe you should just leave that outside light on all the time!
Surprises can be delightful Fred.
Doh! lol. Good write Gold. Thought you had a vision there, like St Pauls' bright light. Knocked him off his horse, so some pics show! Did he have a horse?!
Thanks Orchi, my vision was on Iona, I am going to talk about that at Church this morning.
Great stuff Andy - In the gales the other night the sensor on one of our outside lights got a touch of the vapours and was switching on and off all night long- I would have switched it off permanently but the switch is in the garage and didn't want to go outside in my nethers.
Thanks Michael, it happens to our next door neighbours light occasionally as well but its OK he is an electrician so he will sort it - it's been happening for two years now!
With our light the switch is in the hall and maybe one of us knocked it on by accident.
Inner light ... is it the strength held in our knowledge/belief in continuum of our spritual being beyond the here and now? The 'force' which drives us on through adversity. The hopes and wishes of better tomorrows? Or the love of what we are all a part of.
Deprived of our sense of vision we are the more aware of our spiritual nature. Maybe the turning off of the light turned on daylight distancing the other.
Another excellent write sir.
Thank you DA, much appreciated.
Oh my gosh, I just held on waiting for something profound! Makes me wonder what Confucius would say...
Confucious, he say - "Turn off light before going to bed!"
