PATIENTLY LORD ~ I pray to You
Show me what You would have me do
Open my Eyes ~ to see as you
SPIRIT DIVINE !
OPEN my EYES ~ that I may see
The Pathway of Faith ~ You've planned for me
OPEN my EARS ~ that I may hear
Your guiding words fall on my ear
OPEN my MOUTH and let me speak
The WORD of GOD to those who seek
OPEN my MIND to understand
The Life of Faith ~ that You have planned
SILENTLY now I wait for YOU
O help me LORD to see life through
OPEN my HEART to Worship You
SPIRIT DIVINE !

Lovely poem, hymn, prayer Brian.
What is the hymn title? I thought of 'God be in my head' but that's from 1514 - very old, so I probably knew that one! My age - about 500 years old! lol.
THE FIRST LINE IS "Open my eyes that I may see ~ glimpses of truth thou hast for me" ~ etc The language is beautiful almost Elizabethan ~ my paraphrases tend to be Modern English ! BRIAN
Thanks Brian. Oh I don't know it - the hymn. From 1895 I read. To an Irregular Metre, so it's difficult for me to turn it into a hymn-poem!
