Tune: Blaenwern
('Love divine, all loves excelling')
2 Corinthians 3 v.7-18
********
Lord, you our sanctification
Transforming us to your Son
By your Spirit in us dwelling
Life of God in us living
Restoring us to His image
Through ups, down, hills, vale and ridge
In our journeying on daily
Grant us grace still, we do pray
Though Old Covenant was glorious
Your blessings excel for us
For New Covenant we partake
You us fit for it do make
Treasure of your Spirit biding
In our hearts we to you sing
Comes to occupy weak vessels
Yet strengthens us in our souls
Give us patience, perseverance
Shall not happen at once, hence
By your Spirit's working in us
We are changed, and we confess
That our part is so to work out
What you work in us, no doubt
Here high call of your plan, purpose
In such as me, such as us
Now the Lord, He that Spirit is
Where the Spirit is, is this
Liberty, freedom, openness
His desire is us to bless
We all here with open faces
Behold in glass His graces
Glass as an imperfect mirror
Gives shadowed image, a blur
But we are changed, and more clearly
In us His image we see
Beholding His glory in glass
We are changed, it shall surpass
All humans greatest fine splendours
So praise to Him all renders
From glory to glory transformed
By the Spirit of the Lord
