Childhood Days

Childhood Days

I am sentimental about the good old days

And wish I could go back

To my days as a child

And all the fun I had

I wish I were full of energy

And could play all day long

I wish I could play outside again

And could have a family dog

I wish my dad were still all powerful

And had solutions to all my problems

Protecting me in a loving way

With my troubles there dissolving

I long for the days of old

When life was much more simple

And I had time to play

And showoff both my dimples

I long to feel alive again

With many kid things juggled

And I wish each day began

With no sign of struggle

Those times may well be long gone but you still have your memories.

When life was simple with no worries all of which were borne by our parents - but still so much to look forward to.
