Tune: St Fulbert
('Ye choirs of new Jerusalem')
Revelation Chapter 21 v.1-7
*********
See, new Jerusalem descends
Glories, joys, without ends
New heaven and new earth appear
God's presence ever here
'Tis the holy city, no sin
Can ever dwell therein
Like bride adorned for husband she
Shines forth radiantly
People of God, His family
Our Father He shall be
With us for always, our God he
His face at last we see
Though here in vale of tears we yearn
That soon come His return
Then former things shall pass away
In light of lasting day
For then no more crying or pain
Nor sorrow known again
Nor death, nor mourning, all be gone
Remaining there be none
The Lord upon His throne proclaims
Now all things new He names
True, faithful, His words He does speak
To humble, lowly, meek

Why do I add to the pain in this present age - by singing? Meowwoooo! heehee.
Have to admit that I don't understand this one too much. It does have a nice flow though! But if you are talking to the humble, lowly, and meek, I guess you are talking to me!
Why yes, Frank - thanks. Yep, am talking to you. It's a vision that John had, in the book of Revelation (end of New Testament) of a new heaven and new earth, when this present Earth ends.
So it looks like even the current Heaven will be done away with too.
The 'vale of tears' is the current Earth.
God may talk to the proud, arrogant, and boastful too, I suppose, but maybe in warnings!
Got it, orchi, but instead of 'Frank', call me 'Fred'! 🙂 But you know, since I am humble, lowly, and meek, I don't mind!
Yes Fred!. Doh! I get you and Frank Prem mixed up! Call me anything - within reason - except Shirley (??).
How about KP-Loverboy? Just kidding! Orchi, at our age we do expect a little bit of respect. I would never call you anything disrespectful! I did say I was kidding, right? 🙂
Argghhh call me that, Fred, yes! Things are no better since I married her. They are worse in fact. heehee.
So what is next? Fine write O
Thanks Michael. More poems - and singing from me (oh no!) - to follow! There'll be crying and mourning and pain enough. And it'll be the death of us - me singing!
Not to brag, but I've some lined up. though some days I write nothing at all.
New Jerusalem will be magnificent.
Thanks. There'll be streets of gold for you there, Gold(finch)!
Such good news from the Revelations
-- well written Orchi.
Thanks Fay.
