Who would have guessed?
Not this little Scottie,
And her daringingly Low vest
Remember a time when you thought 40 was OLD
And things in the bedroom would surely plateau
That your passion would be as exciting as a cold
Nothing could get you all of aglow
But 40 is daring and 40 is fun
You let go of the judgement, don't give a shit if you please everyone
It really is true at 40 life has just begun
Taste every sensation, for life, passion and pleasure is not yet done

- Comment from author about the poem: Do you remember (if your of a certain age) when you thought anyone over 25 was old and 40 was just ancient!!!!? Lol...ohhhh how times have changed. I was 40 last November and it makes me laugh how we use to believe people at 40 or just older shouldn't do ANYTHING naughty (get drunk, kiss, have sex etc) because they were old and when your older you don't do these things. This is just a wee tongue in cheek poem to remind all us more mature poets to grab life with both hands....your a long time dead

Thanks JOOLES ~ Loved it ! I'm 35 this year and your poem has given me encouragement ! Angela my GF is 30 this year so in essence we are just KIDS ! Great poem. At 40 you probably think 70 is OLD! I will be 70 this year and now think that 90 is OLD!
And btw, even at 70, one can be 'naughty' (until you run out of breath!) 🙂

Good write Jooles, like Fred I will be seventy this year, the trouble is in my mind I am still thirty five but the body reminds my I am twice that age.
Lol yeah the body and mind fail each other sometimes. Time goes so quickly, sometimes you can't believe it x
Rest assured that 40 though it rhymes with naughty is not the cut off for erm 'fun'. In march i'll be 66 and still have tricks.

61 last December and still looking for fun. Although sometimes my new best friend Mr. Arthur Itus likes to mess with me. I remember when I was a teenager, 40 seemed like so far off in the future that it would take forever to get there. Then I blinked and I was 40. Great poem Jooles, thanks for sharing.
