Music In My Soul.

Goldfinch60

It never fails me,

It is always there,

Always there in my mind,

Always there in my heart,

Always there in my soul.

All emotions come to me

As I sit and listen,

Sit and listen to music.

  • Comment from author about the poem: Music is my life. The you tube clip is from the album "Canadiana Suite" by Oscar Peterson - my favourite pianist -I have nearly all of his albums but this one is special as it is the first one I had, and still have, back in the 60's. It is a wonderful album.

A fine write Gold. What can be annoying is a tune in our mind that we don't want. Some insane ditty or jangle - or hearing me sing! heehee.

    • Goldfinch60

Very true but even those tunes must have merit otherwise you would not have them in your mind - even your songs.

      • orchidee

Yes, thanks Gold. The problem is me caterwauling them (heehee!). Bet I sings nicely really!

Thanks for this Goldfinch! I LOVE the music - you have introduced me to some I didn't know. I'll go find his "stuff"!

My pleasure, Oscar Peterson is one of the “Greats”.

I really like this - I couldn't exist without music, or at least not exist that way I want to. Your poem reminded me of the below quote. Great write!

Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and charm and gaiety to life and to everything - Plato

Thank you TB, very true. There is another quote which goes “Music begins where words come to an end”

            Well written and expressed

              Thank you Tony, most kind.

You've encouraged me to listen to more of his works - fine work Andy

I couldn't imagine living without music. If its not playing then im making some sort of music noise myself.

Nor could I, I am off to the Jazz club in Pershore tomorrow evening.

I thought about joining you there but the music tomorrow wouldnt be pleasing to my ears. Not fond of a liquorice stick (clarinet) or that jenre of jazz but there be other occasions and i'll catch up with you sooner or later my friend.

                    • Goldfinch60

                      Be pleased to see you.

Great, great poem, Goldie! I don't listen to the same kind of music, but my music too does the same thing for me!

Thank you Fred. We all have different tastes in music, I like many types but my top two are classical and Jazz. Saying that I have all the albums that Johnny Cash recorded so Country is up there as well.
I tend to give all music a listen and am open minded about it.

When I work on the computer, I usually listen to a Swiss radio station playing golden oldies, the kind of music I grew up with...the Beatles, Abba, etc., with songs in German, English, French, Italian, etc. I hear them while working, but don't really get into them.
