The sun kisses the ocean
On the far horizon
Playing peek-a-boo
With little offsprings
Of stray clouds
While dusk dresses up
For his daily appearance
Holding back night
Just to get a few more
Minutes on the stage
But night is relentless
And not to be denied
Every day we watch
The interplay of
These familiar actors
Even though we know
The outcome is predictable
We are drawn to the play
With its light show
Its ever changing scenery
Set in motion by
A master choreographer

Well your muse is musing Fred and love the metaphorical concept of this fine write.
Thanks Michael, the whole world is a stage!
Beautiful write, the changing day is beautiful in it ways and as with all nights we know that morning will come, and in our lives Fred we have seen many of them.
Thanks Goldie, and hopefully we will see many more!
I sincerely hope so.
A fine write Fred.
Thank you Orchie! I am trying, doesn't always work out, but once in a while something good does come out of my fingertips (used to be the pen).
your a clever poet, Fred, you delve into am realm of beauty which captures the imagination and that''s what makes a great poet. standing behind life on the stage of delving deep into your imagination open up the curtains to reveal the true you. a very well written poem here and I love it all. perfectly staged, my friend.
Thanks Kevin, for a wonderful comment! Sometimes I do think our life is just a play, we are the actors, and somebody else is running the show.
This is wonderful, Fred! I love how you wrote this. My favorite play of all. (When there is a sun to be seen :-))
Thanks Christina, you are right, there are days when we don't see anything. Got up at 3am to see the trifecta moon, unfortunately all I saw was a reddish glow reflected through the clouds. Some sunsets are like that too, but the really gorgeous ones make up for all the ones we don't see. Just like in life. Some days are so-so, but are made up for by the gorgeous ones.
You really are a wonderful poet Fred, loved this!
Thank you skye! Not so sure about the 'wonderful', but delighted you liked it!
