It’s Always Me

Accidental Poet

It’s Always Me

It’s always me

The one who feels it

And I’m also the one

Who tries to conceal it

I have to resist the urge

To look her way

To stare with adoring eyes

To voice words I long to say

But she steals my thoughts

My attention redirected

A magnetic pull

My heart effected

She doesn’t seem interested

So I hold back my heart

Pull in the reigns

From God’s own work of art

And then again

It’s me who feels it

Still, I’m the one

Who tries to conceal it

And she might be afraid to think you care and so she hides it...........

Thanks for reading Lorna. It's usually quite obvious even though you try to conceal it. But it never quite hooked up for that perfect match.

Your well written poem reminds me of my teenage years, when sometimes I felt EXACTLY like you so eloquently write. Really like your poem!

If I knew where to look Andy, things may have been different. 47 years is a long time to track someone down.
