The purpose of his life was never fully clear
Nevertheless he kept on living year after year
It takes a million teardrops to fill a pail
But only one to tell the tale
Your constant nagging will reduce me to tears
Like water wears down the rock over the years
She was standing strong and proud
But all alone within that crowd
Nobody knows when it’s time to go
But go we must, that’s all we know
While the many are controlled by the few
One alone could topple the few, if only he knew
I always thought I knew it all
But that was before my fall
My life with you is like a beautiful long dance
Am forever grateful you decided to take a chance
Veni vidi vici – life can be so much fun
Even at seventy I am far from done

I like these. Thoughful but light entertainment as a group like this.
Thanks da! I keep on writing them down as they pop into my head and thought why not post them. And you are right, they are 'light entertainment'! Should have put that into my comment. They are not top quality, but fun to write and maybe read.
Beautiful piece!
Thank you MR, I like to write couplets, some are good, some are ok, and some are soso.
Great work Fred and I do have a favourite - it's No2.
Thanks Michael, great minds think alike. #2 is my favorite too, with #7 close behind.
Very good couplets Fred.
Thanks so much Goldie! I do appreciate your comment.
Oohh they are top quality Fred. I'm swooning in amazement at the wisdom of them (really I am! lol).
Thanks orchie! I don't think your swooning comes from the 'wisdom' of these couplets, I think your sherry has something to do with it. 🙂
