Tune: Merrial

('Now the day is over')

Psalm 27 v.4 & v.14

******

One thing have I desired

Of the LORD, heart fired

That I will seek after

To it my will stir

It be that I may dwell

In His house, and tell

And behold His beauty

His glories to see

And to enquire within

He my heart does win

Enquire in His temple

Unto Him I call

Wait on the LORD constant

Trust with no relent

Be of good courage, He

Shall strengthen you, see

Shall strengthen your heart sure

Empowering pure

This the word, 'On Him wait'

He will help not late

Your patience will not be tried as he is always with you.

Thanks Gold. Seems to be a meditative sort of Psalm (27).

Nice write Orchidee. I live in a small city in Texas, USA called Temple. We pronounce it it Tem pull. So following closely your rhyme selections I was slightly thrown by the pair: “Temple” and “Call.” But as I try to recreate a British accent in my mind “Temple” is not the problem; it’s the way you and I would pronounce the word “call”. I believe you pronounce it “cull” which would rhyme quite well with Temple!

Thanks Gary. Erm, it would probably be poem on a judgement theme, if I brought in 'cull'! Well ,there's some Psalms where David calls down judgement on his enemies, as if asking God to cull them!

Ha ha! I suppose we really draw that word out here in Texas: caaaawl
