Thanks STEVE ~ The rules of the FLAT I occupy only permits non~leakable fish tanks so I have to make do with DOG FISH & CATFISH (always fighting !) BUT when Angela & I get our House (like the one in MIKES picture today) I will get TWO SALUKIS (Dog & Bitch) and breed them ~ OK Yours BRIAN
A gorgeous example of canine aristocratic stance -- loved the verse and the image dear Brian - still prefer my little Tessa however - a mix of course but gentle and loyal.
A little long haired dachs for me - no smell, hardly moult, little exercise, faithful, loving but when it comes to larger breeds - yes a saluki fits the bill.
LOL Cats are not free! But I do love your poem and what a beautiful dog! There were so many breeds I had not heard of. (Cats need food and litter and shots and spay or neuter) Dogs are only that expensive if you want a purebred, same as in a purebred cat. Sister Christina
THANKS CHRIS ~ I meant CATS are free at source ~ All Animals are costly to upkeep (even CATS) In the UK people advertise KITTENS \"Free to a good home\" and you can get them (for a donation) from a CATS HOME. Because you have to have a licence for a DOG expense is always involved. I have written so many poems about CATS ~ I thought I should redress the balance. I do have pictures of all the dogs I mentioned but the SALUKI is by far the most handsome which is why the Egyptians considered them ROYAL. The EGYPTIANS if course considered CATS to be DIVINE ! SALUKIS were also Caravan Dogs and travelled the Trade Routes they both killed and retrieved their PREY ! Thanks for your comments Hermano BRIAN
