Last breathe

Diane260965

Was that a gush of wind i heard
Bustling leaves tweeting birds
Was that your beating heart so strong
One last breath then you where gone
Was that a tear roll down your face
Or me just  wishing i could take your place
On that bed surrounded by machines
Brings me doubts about what life really means
But we will meet again someday
When god will take my  last breath away.

WELCOME DIANE ~ Thanks for your first POEM ~ Very elegantly penned ~ but a very poignant subject. I have seen people die and their last breath is is like a great sigh of release and relief ~ as you describe it ! Love the final doublet because you express a hope of Eternal Life ! Blessed are those ~ who die knowing the LORD ~ AMEN Thanks for caring & sharing ~ Yours BRIAN (UK)
