Tune: Doncaster
('Put thou thy trust in God')
********
Help me, O Lord, to take
Today sure for your sake
Commit the future to your hands
You Lord over all lands
Whate'er will be, will be
Help me your way to see
To grow in grace, knowledge of you
You only good and true
You see my heart beset
At times with worry, fret
Regret at yesterday's troubles
Or anxious at what calls
What may call tomorrow
Whether or not it show
I cannot your hand force, but you
Provide for me, shall do
For me, for us, for all
We can pray, on you call
Though trials, toils, be large or small
Trusting you, we not fall
Distractions may abound
And there you are not found
Failing you, I may turn from Him
Your Son, my love grows dim
Yet grant me grace and power
Forgive, renew, endower
Me by your Spirit, so I go
On, in your image grow
Wny downcast, heavy heart?
Look to your Lord and see
Days shall be bright again, load light
Illumined be your sight

- Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem in 6686 Short Metre (SM). This is me at times, in a sort of depressive state. It's no use really, to be floating between 'yesterday' and 'tomorrow'. One can only live in 'today'.

We can hide maybe at times, behind 'we' and 'us', though it includes I, me, myself. That's one and the same person. There is not three of me!
You said it best, Orchi...
...as only you could!
Thank you for sharing!

Thanks Laura, thanks Brian.
The Light is always there.
Thanks Gold.
Faith is all you need. In your case, faith in your God, for others it may be faith in themselves, or faith in whatever they believe.
Oh, nearly forgot, you need love too!
Thanks Fred. Oh and some pork pies and sherry too?!
You can keep the pork pies, orchie, but I wouldn't mind the sherry!
