Loneliness

myself and me

Lying still in bed

with eyes widely open

staring at the ceiling

perfectly white

nothing but white

the light is dazzling

the noise is deafening

I Sigh, heavily

in this open coffin

Lying still in bed

with eyes tightly closed

absolutely dark

nothing but dark

the world is in silence

heartbeats sound like thunder

blood rolling angrily in the vein

I am wildly alive

yet dead

Good write m and m. Even in the dark the light will be there.

Sometimes no matter what we do does not feel right, as you so eloquently write here, m&m. I like the way you used these opposites, eyes open, eyes closed, to convey the same feeling. Well done!

Made me chuckle, probably because I'm wide awake and regularly have trouble sleeping. Loved it!.
